Public Digging & Events

The site is currently closed for the season, but follow us on our Blog, Facebook or Twitter to see our progress in the lab! Excavations should resume in the Spring.

 

Are you interested in spending a part of your day as an archaeologist? Sundays and Mondays until the close of the season on November 1st are available for the public to visit the site and do some real archaeology with real archaeologists.

If you would like to sign up, simply fill out the form below. The cost is $32 per person for a 2-hour, hands-on, real archaeology experience. This is a unique opportunity for you and other members of your community to come together and experience the Colonial American history coming to life right before you. Group sizes are between 13-20.

Our Terms and Conditions:
This is an active, private archaeology site. Please be aware there will be uneven ground, rocks and holes on the site. Participants should be aware of the physical activity involved in the session which includes, but is not limited to: digging, troweling, sifting, carrying buckets, bending, kneeling and standing. We can tailor your experience based on the abilities of the members in your party.

Nothing is to leave the grounds. All items found, whether artifact or not, are property of North Atlantic Archaeological Collaborative, Inc., and are to stay on the site and be given to archaeologists and/or bagged as instructed.

Participants should be wearing closed toe shoes, dress in layers and apply sunscreen and bug spray as needed. Please be sure to bring a water bottle. You will be notified several days before the event you have signed up for with more information or if the day has to be rescheduled due to inclement weather.
